Cookies

This page explains what cookies this website uses, why, and how you can control them. It's written to be read rather than to be legally impenetrable.

What a cookie is

A small text file placed on your device by a website. Some are read only by us, some by the services we use to run the shop. They can't access files on your computer or identify you by name on their own.

What we use, and why

Strictly necessary. These make the shop work at all. They remember what's in your bag, keep you signed in, and secure the checkout. They can't be switched off, because without them there's no shop — only a set of pages you can't buy anything from.

Performance and analytics. These tell us which pages are read, how people move through the site, and where things break. We look at this in aggregate to improve the site. We are not interested in what any individual person did.

Marketing. These follow you between websites so advertising can be targeted at you. We do not currently run any advertising or social media tracking on this site. If that changes — and if we start advertising, it will — we will update this page before the tracking goes live, not after.

Who else sets cookies here

Our shop runs on Shopify, which sets its own cookies to operate the storefront, the cart and the checkout, and to detect fraud. Payment providers set cookies during checkout for the same reason. We don't control those, and they're covered by their own policies.

How to control them

  • In your browser. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and offers a private window that discards them when you close it. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break the cart and checkout.
  • Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out request where applicable law requires.
  • Ask us. Write to Contact Us and we'll deal with it directly.

Your rights in the United States

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws — including in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and Virginia — may give you the right to know what personal information we hold, to ask us to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't currently share it for targeted advertising. To make any request, write to us at sgbusinessac@gmail.com. We'll respond within the timeframe the law requires, and we won't treat you differently for asking.

Changes

If we add analytics or advertising tools, this page changes first. We'd rather tell you before than explain afterwards.
